Presidents Day, officially known as Washington’s Birthday, is an American holiday celebrated every third Monday of February. It is originally a celebration honoring George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, whose birthdays are both in February. Today, we celebrate President’s Day to honor all US presidents. It is a day of celebration and remembrance of their lives and accomplishments. Indeed, various groups hold public ceremonies in Washington, DC and across the country.
