How to Replace Cartridge(s)
These simple steps will certainly help you in replacing the ink cartridge on the Canon PIXMA TS3122:
- Check if the power of your Canon PIXMA TS3122 is on.
- Pull the paper output tray down followed by the output tray extension.
- Open the front cover and wait until the cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.
- Press down the used ink cartridge to remove it from the holder.
- Get the new ink cartridge from its packaging and make sure to remove the protective tape.
- Put the ink cartridge into the cartridge holder. Remember to insert it at a slant.
- Push the cartridge firmly inside until it is completely secured.
- Close the front cover.

My Canon PIXMA TS3122 has run out of black ink, but I need to print a few more pages? Can I do that?
Yes. You can print with just the color ink, but the print quality may be reduced. Also, make sure to leave the empty black ink cartridge installed while you do that. We highly recommend, however, to replace the blank ink cartridge soon to get high-quality prints.
Why should I keep the empty black ink cartridge installed when printing with color ink only?
The PIXMA TS3122 is designed to operate with both ink cartridges installed. So if you print with the color ink only, make sure to keep the empty blank ink cartridge installed. Otherwise, an error will occur.
