How to Replace Cartridge(s)
- Turn your printer on. Then, open its front cover.
- Open your printer’s operation panel, and then the paper output tray. You’ll see the print head holder move to the replacement position.
- Remove the ink cartridge with the lamp flashing fast by pushing its tab. Then, lift it up to remove from the machine.
- Take your new ink cartridge out of its bag. Then, remove the orange tape and the protective film gently.
- Hold the ink in a way that the orange protective cap is pointing up. Be careful not to block the Y-shaped air hole.
- Lift the orange protective cap gently to remove it. Make sure you don’t push the sides of the ink tank and that you don’t touch the inside of the orange cap.
- To install the new cartridge correctly, insert its front end into the print head at a slant. Note: the position of the cartridge should match the label on the print head.
- Press firmly on the top of the ink cartridge until you hear it snap into place. If installed correctly, the ink lamp lights up.
- Close the operation panel. Press the OK button to continue printing.

What does “high yield” mean on your cartridges?
“High yield” means this cartridge can produce more pages than standard-sized ones. In this case our Canon PGI-270XL Black High-Yield Compatible Ink Cartridge can print up to 600 pages, while our single ink cartridges in the CMY range can all print up to 300 pages. This estimation is subject to change, depending on your frequency of use, printer settings, and the amount of color on your images.
If I order the 10-pack combo, how soon can I expect them to dry up?
Our cartridges have a 24 to 36-month shelf life. To maximize this, please keep opened/unopened cartridges in a sealed bag and away from direct sunlight. Also, store them somewhere that is cool and dry and in an upright position to avoid leaks.
