How to Replace Cartridge(s)
- If the LCD shows Toner Low, buy a new toner cartridge and have it ready.
- If the LCD shows Replace Toner, the machine will stop printing until you replace the empty cartridge.
- To replace a toner cartridge, start by turning the power on, and then open the front cover.
- Grasp the colored handle of the drum unit and pull it out as far as it will go.
- Grasp the handle of the toner cartridge. Press it toward the printer, and then pull it out of the drum unit.
- Slide the blue tab on the back of the drum unit all the way from left to right several times. Return the tab to the home position. This cleans the corona wire.
- Take the new toner cartridge out of its wrapper and pull off the protective cover.
- Slide the new toner cartridge into the correct slot on the drum unit. Pull it towards you and it will click into place.
- Push the drum unit into the printer until it stops.
- Close the front cover.
- Do not turn off the power or open the front cover again until the Ready mode appears.
