Frequently Asked Questions

When should I replace the toner cartridge on my Brother MFC-9010CN printer?

When the toner cartridge is running low, your MFC-9010CN LCD display will show the ‘Toner Low’ message. Have a replacement cartridge ready so that when the ‘Replace Toner’ message appears on the display, you can install the new cartridge immediately.

When the ‘Drum Error’ message appears, does it mean I have to replace the drum unit soon?

The ‘Drum Error’ message indicates two things. If the scroll message shows ‘Replace the Drum Unit’, it means you need to replace the drum unit. But if the scroll message shows ‘Slide the Green Tab on Drum Unit’, it means you must clean the corona wire.

I recently installed a compatible toner cartridge—is there a way for me to save on toner when printing?

Yes. Your MFC-9010CN features the ‘Toner Save.’ Simply set it to ‘On’ because its default setting is ‘Off.’
