Here's how to replace the ink cartridge on the Brother MFC-885CW:

 

  1. Open the ink cartridge cover.
  2. Pull the lock release lever down, and pull the empty ink cartridge out of the MFC-885CW.
  3. Remove the new ink cartridge from the package. Then, remove its protective yellow cap.
  4. Put the ink cartridge in its corresponding slot.
  5. Lift the lock release lever, and push the cartridge until you hear an audible click.
  6. Close the cover of the ink cartridge.
  7. Wait until the printer automatically resets its ink dot counter.
