How to Replace Cartridge(s)

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Slide the drum unit out of the printer. Then, hold down the lock lever on the right part of the printer to get the old toner cartridge out of the drum unit.
  3. Remove any packaging materials used to cover the new toner cartridge.
  4. Shake the cartridge lightly back and forth several times to distribute the toner evenly.
  5. Remove the protective cover of the cartridge.
  6. Install the new cartridge in the drum unit until it clicks into place. The lock lever will automatically lift.
  7. Lightly slide the blue tab from side to side several times to clean the primary corona wire. Put the blue tab back to the home position.
  8. Reinsert the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
  9. Close the printer cover.
