How to Replace Cartridge(s)

  1. Lift the scanner cover from the right-hand side of the machine. Before you access the cartridge, make sure it locks securely into the open position.
  2. Pull the ink cartridge hook toward you, and then carefully remove the empty ink cartridge.
  3. Remove the new ink cartridge from the packaging. If the cartridge cover did not come off when you opened the bag, remove it before you put the new cartridge in its corresponding slot.
  4. Hold the new ink cartridge in an upright position, and then insert it into the correct slot.
  5. Press down on the new cartridge until the hook snaps securely.
  6. Lift the scanner cover to release the lock and slowly push it down to close.

Frequently Asked Questions

I only need one compatible LC41BK ink cartridge—can I buy individually?

Our compatible Brother LC41BK ink cartridges come in twin packs, but you can always contact our Customer Service Department for your concern.

If I purchase the 10-pack combo, how can I make sure the unused ink cartridges will last in storage?

Our compatible ink cartridges have a shelf life of 18 to 24 months. So, if you keep them sealed in their original packaging and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, you can expect them to last up to 2 years.

Can I resume printing immediately after installing a new ink cartridge?

No. You must wait until the MFC is done with the cleaning cycle, which usually lasts for about 3 minutes for each replaced cartridge.
