  2. Pull the ink cartridge hook toward you, and then pull the empty ink cartridge to take it out of the printer.
  3. Take the new ink cartridge out of the packaging. Then, remove its protective cover.
  4. Hold the new ink cartridge in an upright position, and then insert it into the correct slot.
  5. Press down on the new cartridge until the hook snaps securely.
  6. Lift the scanner cover to release the lock and gently close it.

Frequently Asked Questions

I already replaced the empty ink cartridge on my Brother MFC-620CN, but why am I getting faded print results?

Faded colors and texts on print results are often due to clogged nozzles. Try cleaning the printhead several times to fix this issue.

How would I know how much ink is left in all four cartridges?

To check the ink level, simply press ‘Ink Management.’ Then, select ‘Ink Volume’ to know how much ink is left in each tank.

When my printer says that an ink cartridge is empty, does it mean it’s completely out of ink?

Not really. Even though the printer says that an ink cartridge is empty, the cartridge still has a small amount of ink left in it to prevent air from drying out and damaging the printhead assembly.
