Frequently Asked Questions

Why did I get a ‘No Ink Cartridge’ or ‘Cannot Detect’ error message after replacing the ink cartridge on my Brother MFC-J6720DW printer?

The ‘No Ink Cartridge’ or ‘Cannot Detect’ error message usually appears if the replacement ink cartridge is not installed correctly. Remove the cartridge and reinstall it to resolve this issue.

How can I calculate the cost per page?

To calculate the cost per page, divide the cartridge yield by the cost of the cartridge. For example, the Brother LC103/LC101 Black High-Yield Compatible Ink Cartridge Twin Pack has a page yield of 600 per cartridge at 5% coverage and it costs $7.95. Take $7.95 and divide that by 1,200 pages and you get a cost of .0066 cent per page.

What do you mean by 5% page coverage?

The 5% coverage is the industry standard used for yield measurement and testing. It simply means 5% of the page is filled with basic text, with no bold characters, no graphics, and no pictures.
