Ink jet refills can be accomplished two ways: through do-it-yourself refill kits, or through a mail-away service such as JetPak that provides you with a remanufactured cartridge. 

Ink jet refills offered through the Jetpak service are an economical and environmental alternative to purchasing new cartridges. How does it work? Jetpaks are pre-paid generic mailers that you purchase from Carrot Ink. You simply follow the instructions that come with the Jetpak, and pop your used ink jet cartridge in the mail. 

JetPak professionally cleans the cartridge, refills it with high quality ink, print tests to ensure high performance and returns it to you via US Mail. For those with busy work schedules or those that are apprehensive about refilling cartridges themselves, ink jet refills from JetPak are a nice alternative. 

On the average, ink jet cartridges can be remanufactured 3 or 4 times. However, there are instances when a printer cartridge can not be refilled even once, and other times when it can be recycled more than 4 times. Cartridges with the highest success rates are noted on the following listing:

If the cartridge is found to be unserviceable (the cartridge has worn out), Jetpak will not replace the cartridge. However, they will send you a certificate (or on occasion a new mailer) to recycle another cartridge at no additional charge. Thus, you will not be out any money.
